ASSESSMENT COURT.

Wednesday, March 17, 1880. (Before R. Ward, Esq., Judge ) An adjourned sitting of the Court was held on Wednesday last. J. T. Stewart objected to the rate able value of £100 put on section 210, his property. Mr John Young appeared on behalf of Mr Stewart, who, he said, had gone to Wanganui. Mr Thynne objected to Mr Young appearing as the agent for Mr Stewart. His Honor said it was for Mr Stewart to upset the valuation, and if he was not present to give evidence it would be his own loss.— Mr Young thought th© value of the property would be about £60 per annum ; it was well fenced, and a portion of it was planted. The property he thought would be worth £1000 ; he did not know cost of the recent additions to the property. Mr Thynue, in reply to the Court, stated that his valuation represented a little over 5 per cent, on what he considered was the value of the land and the money spent on his house. Objection dismissed. Andrew Jonson objected to the rateable value of the property ocou-
