PRESBYTERY MEETING. ... ... .._* ..
The presbytery of Wellington held its quarterly meeting in the Church at Foxton on Wednesday last. The following members were present : — Rev. Messrs. Allsworth (Moderator) Duncan, Ogg. Pater9on, Al'Kee, Wright, Doull, Ross, and -Torry, together with Mr Honore, Maori Missionary, and Mr It. M'Gregor, student in Divinity. Messrs Paterson, M'Kee, and Oger gave in a report on the examination papets of Mr G. Grunt, at present luboming at the HiuV, on Latin, Greek, and Church History. Mr Grant's examination whs sustained by the Presbyter}'. A report was al«o given in by Messrs Ogg, Paterson, M'Kee and Doull on the examination papers of Air M'Gregor on Church History, Greek and Hebrew, Latin and Theology — Mr M'Gregor was also examined orally, and read papers on subjects that had been prescribed to him. The presbytsry sustained his examination with approbation, and resolved to apply to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church far leave to take him on trinl for license. Several Commissioners were appointed to attend the meeting of isseinbly to be held in Auckland next month.
