The average number of daya upon which rain fell per annum was 136. The heaviest fall in one month waß for Sept , 1874, when 10 31 ins, fell. There \ras a heavy flood on the last two days of this month ; 8 inches of rain fell in the last half of this month. March and April are the driest months. The rainfall at the Gorge Bridge (Manawatn) for the year 1879 was 50-42. Bninfall at Foxton— December, 1879, 5-10 inches ; Jatiiiafy, 1880, 164 inches. Rainftll at. Gorge Bridge— Uesembor, 1879,0-18 inches; January, ISSO, 1.70 inches.
