NEW ZEALAND ROADS. TENDERS FOR~GRAVELLING. Public Works Office, Wellington, January 26, 1880. ' * rpENDERS will be received AT L THE PUBLIC WORKS OFFICE, HAWERA, until noon on MONDAY, 2nd February, 1880, for gravelling three contracts of HALF A MILE each on the main line of road west of the Waingongoro River, and commencing at the Bridge. They must tfe^Kidressed to the Hon. Minister for r üblic Works, and marked outside " Tender for Gravelling" Specifications and conditions may be seen at the Public Works Offices Wellington, Wanganui, Hawera, and New Plymouth; also at the Post Office, Carlyle; Telegraph Office, Normanby; and at the Armed Constabulary Camp at Opunake. Telegraphic tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received as above if presented at any Telegraphic Office by noon of the same date, provided that written tonders in due form are lodged at any of the above named offices by the same hour, and accompanied by a deposit cheque on some Bank in the town where the tender is lodged for the amount named in the specification, such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for twenty-one days, and to be in favor of the Receiver - General's Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. The lowest or tny tender will not necessarily be accepted. N. B. — The ahove works are the first of a series of contracts which will extend northwards of Waingongoro rivors. Parties tendering will be required to prospect for and find a'sttpply of gravel as near the work as possible, and each tenderer must state the least number of teams he intends to employ on the work.
