THE OTAKI RACES.
Two Fatal Accidents. We received the following s:id intelligence from our Ofcaki correspondent last evening : — A most melancholy accident happened to-day at the Otaki Races, in which a young man named Charles Mudgeway met his death, by coming in collision with some young women riding round the course. Also a child of Thomas Seymour fell out of a buggy, and the wheels run over her, killing- her on the spot. The races passed off very satisfactorily. The accidents happened after the races were over. Maiden Plate. — Ransfield'a Nikau, 1 ; Maealister's Day Dawn, 2. Otaki Stakes. — ftauslield's Olymenus, I ; Campion's Commission, 2. District Race — Taipua's Katipo, 1 ; Ransfiehl's Clyinemis, 2. Ladies' Purse— M'Donald's Tnpapaku, 1 ; I'aipua's K-ilipo, 2. Consolation. — Macalister's fox, 1 ; Jilletts Castilian, 2. Hack race— llemira's Male, 1 ; Eansfi?ld's Aporo, 2.
