ME FHKEMAN R. JACKSON'S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK UK PORT. Wangandi, December 3, 1879. The sale at Wuvorley on Friday was well attended by settlers, but the bidding was very dull, resulting in a large number of the stock offered being passed in at the auction. I succeeded in placing all the stock afterwards at the quotations below. Prices ruled the same as at last sale. At .the yards .to-day the beef sold was of good quality, and m <de about 22s the lOOlbs. Store cattle were in unlimited numbers, and at fair value? Sheep: only a few were peuned, not sufficient for the trade, the bad weather delaying shearing operations, accounting for the small number offered. Prices were at extreme rates. Quotations are : Cattle.— At Waverley, 335 head were yarded— 3-yeir-old steers, £5 7s 6d ; 2-year* olds, £-i J7a 6d ; cowa and calves, £o ; cows, £3 53 to £4; heifers, £3 17s 6d; yearlings, £3 53 to £2 10s. At the yards today, 841 head came' forward — Fat bullocks, good quality, £8 5s to £9 10s j medium quality, £7 12a 6d ; 2-year-old steers. £3 17s 6d ; yearlings, £2 to £2 2s Od ; milch cows, £5 17s 6d to £7 I (is. Sheep.— At Waverley, 1178 were penned —Hoggets, 3s 6d to 4s 9d. At St Hill street, 171 were sold— Fat weathers, 8s 6d to 9e 3d ; ewes and lambs in wool, 11s 9oT. - Pias — Store porkers, 1 Os. Horses.— A large number were offered — Unbroken draught fillies, £14 to £j!0 j hacks. £6 to £8 ; 1 superior hack, £22 j unbroken light horses, from £2 5s to £5. Exports.- 1600.
