A GRIEVANCE.
TO THES EDITOR OF THE MA.X.VWATU HERALD. Sin. — Can you inform me through Jhe medium of your paper why the Looal Board employs men who pay no rates, leaving others who are heavily rated idle. The late Hoard was tarred with (be same kippeen. If a man was a few pounds in the Chairman's debt, he was at once employed — whether he was competent to do the work or not. There is something very selfish in this. Surely the Board are not doing justice to the ratepayers. It is time to stop this little game, or the Board will hear more about it. » I am, &c, Echo Foxton, Octob9r 27.
