John Henderson, the well known railway engineer, is seriously ill from apoplexy, and is insensible. In the New Zealander fco- day, J. C. Brown, member for Tuapeka, states that the Hall -Vogel Government in 1872 offered to give him any thiug he Hked to a.k for his vote. In the House this afternoon tho Hon. J. Hall made a personal explanation, and characterised the statement as an absolute, unblushing, and unmitigated falsehood, and appealed to .Mr Gisborne as a member of thp.t Ministry Mr Gisborne said that he would not stop a day in any Ministry that, could make such an offer. The no confidence debate is still going on. Masters has declared for the Opposition, and Murray has said he would vote againsfc the Government.
