Advices 'from Cape Town to June 10th state that General Newdegate had advanced to Selfe River and taken up an entrenched position Major-General Crealock had crossed the river Umbalasi, and established a base of operations with Port Durnford. A fresh attempt by the colonial troops to take Moirisi's strong- , hold was unsuccessful. London, June 30. The homeward English mail, via Brindisi, was delivered in London on the 28th instant. July 1. Latest news from Cape reports that the British troops have raised a memorial to the lale Prince Imperial. Profound sorrow is felt at his death. Cairo, June 30. In compliance with a request from the Great Powers, the ex Khedive, Ismail Pasha, Prince Hussein, and Prince Hassan, his second and third sons, left Egypt to-day and have gone to Naples. Sydney, Tuesday. The schooner Ellen was wrecked in Trial Bay ; all hands were lost. His Honor Chief Justice Sir James Martin is seriously ill, and unlikely to rosume official duties. Two new daily newspapers have been issued here to-day.
