FOXTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
, « A meeting of the Committee w*v held at the Athenaeum on Wednes day afternoon. Present — Messrs Gray (iti the ohair), Whyte, Luldell M'CuUtoh, and Dr Eockstrow. """*- "The fol 1 owing resolucion was passed : — " That the Committee re cords its protest against the statements made by the Chairman of the Wanganui Education Board at the last meeting of the Board, to the effect that the Committee were responsible for the non-completion or wrong carrying out of the school contract; that the said statements are utterly without foundation, a gross perversion of facts, and totally devoid of truth— both the old and the new Committee having always carefully put the whole responsibility upon the Wonganui Education Board, as fully evidenced by official documents.'' The resolution was moved by Mr Whyte, and seconded by Mr M'Culloch. Dr Eockstrow tendered his resignation as chairman, which was accept^ ed, and Mr A. Gray was appointed in his place pro tern. RJr Flower was requested to reconsider his resignation. , An application for the post of mistress was held over for a month. The Committee resolved to take over the school building from the contractor with all its defects, immediate occupation being necessary, and Messrs Gray, Whyte, and Liddell were requested to accept the building from Mr Fry.
