Lokjon, June 17. In the House of Commons, la3t night, the Secretary of State for the Colonies, in reply to a question, said that a despatch conveying the views oi the British Government on the Victorian constitutional question had been sent to the Maiquis of Normanby and would arrive in Melbourne in a few days. He promised to produce at an early date all the papers in connection with this eubject. Sydney, Thursday. The schooner Love, Captain Pea- j cock, bound from Queensland to I Sydney, timber laden, has been wrecked off Newcastle. The sailmaker was drowned ; the rest of the crsw and passengers were saved The vessel was owned in Sydney by Messrs Robey, and was built in New Jersey in 1855. Sailed,— City of Sydney, for Auckland. Melbourne, Thursday. The papers here publish the text of Sir Michael Hicks-Beach's despatch to Lord Normanby, the substance of which has been fully anticipated by direct telegraph. The Legislative Assembly lasc night passed a vote of £300,000 for Education, and rejected a resolution regarding the financial administration of the Ministry, which was tantamount to a vote of want of confidence.
