RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
♦ FOXTON. Tuesday, June 17, 1879. (Before !S. S. Thynne, Esq., J.P.) DRUNK. Matliias Petersen, for being drunk and disorderly in the streets of Foxton on June 16, was fined 5s or 24 hours' imprisonment. The fine was at once paid. Wednesday, June 21, 1879. (Before F. Eobinson, Esq., J.P.) " DRTXNK AND DISORDERLY. William IVlackey was charged with being drunk and disorderly in the streets of Foxtou on the previous evening. It appeared he had been let out on bail of £1, whioh was estreated. FALSE PRETENCES. John Brett, John Taggart, and Aubory Percival were brought up and charged by Alexander Gray with endeavoring to obtain goods under false pretences. Brett pleaded guilty ; the other two not guilty. Brett also informed the Bencli that he was the guilty one, the other two being innocent. Upon the application of con* stable M'/. nulty the prisoners were remanded until Wednesday next. Bail was allowed — Brett himself in £25, and two sureties in £25 each; Taggart and Percival were allowed bail in £10 each, and two sureties each of £5. OIVIL. Several civil cases were down for hearing, but were adjourned until Wednesday next.
