The natives have tnado another discovery of coal at Wnangarei on land bought five years ago by the Government. Fewi to day visited the Three Kings' Institution, and was entertained by the Rev Mr Huddle, Ho has also visited the Maori graves at Whangarei. A rumour is current that the tender of Messrs Walter Bell and Co. lias bean accepted for the reclamation in connection with the Dunedin railway site, the amount being £58,000. Mr McLean, in the Manuherikia County Council, carried a resolution against the employment of Chinese on the county works. The general arming of the districts is producing a snlutary effect on the native mind. Some of the more sensible natives admit that they do not know the reason of the ploughing. A groat meeting is to be held at Parihaka on the 18th instant, at which Europeans will be permitted to be present.
