"tIT-RITTEN TENDERS will be W received for cutting TOTARA SLEEPERS, with the right of cutting other timber, out of a Govern* ment reserve of 470 acres, more or less, in the Manawatu District, to which the Government are now construct ; ng a branch railway from the main line, about 155 chains long, for the purposes of this contract. Genes ral conditions, specifications, &c, may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Auckland, Foxton, Wanganui, and Wellington, ivhere aho tenders are to be lodged, until NOON of Saturday, the 21«* June, 1879, accompanied by a cheque on some bank in the- town where the tender is lodged ; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for one month, and to be in favour of the Receiver- General's Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. The land in this reserve, atter the above con'ract is finished,: will revert to tho Feilding Corporation, who will then have power to deal with it as with their other lands. The attention of intends ing contractors is specially drawn to this circumstance, as they might thus be enabled (o acquire and Bettle on the lanl aftor the completion of their contract.
