Adelaide, Thursday. The P. and 0. steamer Assam, with Suez mails, has arrived at King George's Sound.
It is expected the Opposition will challenge the policy of Government when Parliament meets.
Sydney, Thursday. In the Assembly last night, the Council's message in reference to the differences between the two : H ouses on the Parliament Privileges Bill came under discussion, and on the motion of Sir Henry Parkes, it was expunged from the records of the House. The motion' was learned by 28 to 10. A deadlock between the two Houses is anticipated.
