Mr Perreau's letter mode damaging. assertions against the school teachers and the management of the school. \ The correspondence is published »> J^^^t tenso in another part of the paper. Mr Whyte thought if the committee were satisfied with Mr Hulke, they should take his part. If any notice was taken of tuoh fl.msy charges as these, the whole system of the school would be upset. They would constantly be receiving complaints. The Chairman thought it would perhaps be more satisfactory to arrange a meeting, and hear both sides.

Mr Stewart thought Mr Perreau should have brought the matter before the committee. At present, there;" was nothing tangible in the matter. ._-->■ Mr Gray thought there was no. case for the committee to interfere with. It was out of the province: of the committee, and was between Mr Hulke and Mr Perreau. He did not know of any presents having been made. If such had been done, it was a very bad practice. Air MoCullocb proposed— " That in the opinion of this committee, there are no. grounds for the charges made by Mr Perreau, and that the committee have every confidence in Mr Hulke's management of the school. '
