FOXTON HARBOUR BOARD.
A meeting of the Board was held at Mr W. Q-. Robinson's office on Monday evening last, at 7 p.m. Pr-Bent— Messrs Gray (Chairman), Macarthur, Thynne, Crowther, and Cook.
A letter dated March 24, from the Public Works Department was road, declining to hand over tbe wharf as an endowment to the Board.
A letter dated April 26 was read from the Marine DepartmeDt,requesting the Board to appoint Mr C. Batt, wharfingea. as deputy harbonr master. Upon the motion of Mr Thynne the appointment was made. A memorial was read from Capta Fraser, Gibson, Doile, and Wills asking the Hoard to remove several snags which impeded the navigation of the river. A committee consisting of Messrs Thynne, Gray and Cook was appointed to. examine the river, and call for tenders for the removal of the most dangerous snags.
An account lor £1 15s for advertising the balance sheet, was passed.
A conversation ensued upon the matter of an endowment, but nothiug was decided upon. The Board then adjourned.
