We suggest to the Foxton Local Board that at their meeting on Thursdvy next, a resolution should be passo 1, bringing under the notici of the Government tho necessity and desirability of proceeding at once with the Foxtoii reolamation scheme. When Me Alacaadrew wasia IToxton a month ago, he so fully concurred in the views of the deputation upou this mittor, that, remembering that the plaus are ul ready in existence, people have expected to hear by this time something of a uwva being raado in the direction indicated. Such, howerer, does not appear to be tho cuse, anil it is just possible that a brief resolution may refresh Mr Macandrow's memory upon this particular matter, aud lead tn tenders being called for the work. Tho matter is one which affects the town and p:>rt in many ways, and as our emSryo City Council, the Local Board, may very properly remind Mr Macandrew of his assurance that " no time would be lost in diverting the railway to the wharf, as originally intended."
