The steamer Huia was not so fortunate in getting off the bank last week as was hoped would be the case. The tides wero making, however, and she oaine off on Saturday night, and steamed up to the wharf on Sunday morning. Having discharged a large cargo (including sawmill plant and railway iron), she left at 9 o'clock last night ft. r Wellington. On her last trip up the Huia brought the following passengers: —"Vlus Amesbury, Mr and Mrs Morris and family, Mussm Ashon and Pawson. The s.s. Stormbird, in charge of Captain Doile, arrived hero at 8 o'clock on Sunday morning from Wellington, and will now take up the regular running between that port and Foxton, in plaoe of the Jane Douglas. The Stormbird has just reoeived a thorough overhaul, and looka very smart and clean.
