CORRESPONDENCE.
[We are not responsible for the opinions of our correspondents.] TO THE EDITOR OP THE MANAWATTT HERALD. Sir,— ln your issue of the 31st January, I read a paragraph to the effect that au arrangement has been r, made with Natives by which they are to have the construction of the Otaki Inland Road. Sir, I seek information. Does this mean that the natives kindly condescended to accept the three thousand pound voted for that road td share among themselves j and their pakeha friends ? «r does it mean another nibble by their pakeha friends at this money so long lying idle ? I trust. Sir, whatever it means, that in any arrangements made, our County Chairman will maintain the honorable name ho bears, for square and open dealing, and not exclude the working men of F oxton from fair competition for the work. I am &c, AVoßicisa Man. Foxton, February 1 1879. j
