Wellington, Friday. Butter. — Salt, butter is in liltlo donmud, there being no enquiry for export. Good samples ore worth 8J to BJcl for undoubted quality in kegs, but there are few local sales. Bacon ami hams. — Moderate stocks of Canterbury cure, which have been moving " off at 8_ to 9d per lb ; cloth packed rule from 8£ to 9;1. Cheese. — Stooks in first hands aro low, and the price is firm at 8-?.d to 9d per lb. for Canterbury make. Flour. — The flour market is unaltered and prices coiitinuo low. with a downward tendency. We hear of sales on tho spot for Canterbury flour £8 10s per ton, a figure thofc e-anr.ofc but leave a loss to the miller. Our quotations vary from £9 los to £10 10i per ton for b«*t brands of < ontcrbury and Oamaru mills (for bakers' lots), but it is not improbable that concessions have been mndo where the lot has beon above the av.irago. Grain.— o;its remain firm at last week's rate, and good samples are worth 4s to 4s 6d, Maizj has become low in stock, and is worth ss. Wheat for fowls, U to 4* 3d ; bran, Is ; pollard, £8.
