WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD.
« The Doard met at Wanganui on Wednesday last,. A largo amount ef business was transacted. An application from the Otaki Committee that the Board uhould grant permission that a room in the schoolhouse about to be erected might bo sot apart to be used as a public library, and that the teacher be allowed to act as libraiiin, was considered, and it was resolved, Chat this Board, with the consent of the local com* mittee, agree to the schoolmaster acting as librarian, and also to accommodation being made for the reception of books, but the' Board will not incur any expenses in con nee t ion with the same. The tender for the Karore School was accepted.. The Halcombe School Committee were authorised to produce plaus and ppecifications for increased accommodation for 100 children, to be submitted for approval of the Building Committee. The sum of JJ3O was granted to the Taounui School for necessary works.
