NEW ZEALANDERS HOLD POSTTIONS.

NOT IN ACTION YESTERDAY. The Official War Correspondent of the N.Z.E.F. in a cable lcdged at Cairo last night says: All the positions taken by the New Zealanders following their night attack when General Montgomery launched his offensive against Rommel are still held. Although no details of Sunday's fighting have yet reached Cairo it is believed here that the New Zealanders were not engaged in any major action on Sunday. They have consolidated all their newly taken objectives, and are now ready to take their part in the next phase of the 8th Army's offensive.
