CONDITION SERIOUS

KING CHRISTIAN OF DENMARK.

P.A. Gable.

COPENHAGEN, Oct. 25.

It is officially announced that King Christian 's condition is serious following his fall from a horse on October 19. A bulletin mentions great fatigue and rapid, irregular heart action. The Queen and the Crown Prince remained all night at the hospital.

Geoffrey William Fisher, a 225-year-old soldier, who recently broke into the top floor of the Commefcial Bank in Wellington, was sentenced by Mr Justice Blair in the Supreme Court, Wellington, to three years' reformative detention. His Honour said it was a deliberate burglary, for which there was no reason, as the accused had money of his own and was drawing military pay. He had already been sent to a Borstal institution for three years, but had not profited by this. A stai'tling experience befel a party of Blenheim fire brigadesmen rcturning yesterday morning from a sub-associati'in demonstration atKaikoura. The car in which they were travelling encountered a mob of cattle on 1:ln highway near Benmor, and was passing through when suddenly a dog turncd a large bull which had taiken np a. stand on an cmbankmcni at the side of the roaci. The bull wheeled round and erashed down ihe bank, striking the rear side-windo\V of the vchicle- — which some how did not spliriter — and denting the rear mudguard. For a moment it appeared to the passengers as though the pondcrous beast would crash squarely on top oi the car, ana had ibat occurred they probably would not have escaped so lightly.
