NEW LIGHTNING CLASS DESTROYERS. The Daily Mail describes Britain's heaviest and latest hard-hitting "attack" destroyers, kncwn as the Lightning class, details of which can now be.published, as "vest-pocket cruisers." The Lightnings, which have a displacement of 1920 tons, are a development of the Tribal class. Their six 4.7 guns are mounted cruiser fashion in three turrets. The Lightnings carry eight torpedo tubes eompared with the Tribals' four, and they have a
speed of 36i knots. — London
