Eric Boon, British lightweight champion, knocked out Jake Kilrain, Scotland, in the second round of a charity tournament at the Queenshery Club. George Muir, New Zealand, 13st. 11b, outpointed Jim Wilde, Wales, 15st. 81b, in an eight-round preliminary. Muir scored frequently with- a massive right swing to Wilde's face. Muir's victory was most popular. The crowd booed the Boon-Kil-rain decision.
