NINE PLUGS MISSING
+ r GELIGNITE STILL UNRECOVERED. WARNING TO PARENTS. Somewhere in Blenheim— quite possibly in the possession of children — are nine full-sized plugs of gelignite; sufficient to blow Hitler and the bulk of the other war criminals to the place where they ought to be. These plugs are what remains unrecovered from a number which were oropped from a lorry in Maxwell road early yesterday morning. So far nine of the 18 plugs which it has been ascertained were lost have been found and handed in— and some of them by youngsters who discovered them lying in the street. In one instance a small boy took one of the plugs to school with him in his bag — under the impression that the soft sausage meat-like substance was plasticine. The search for the remaind^r of the explosive proceeds, and valuable assistance is being lent by members of the Armed Forces, who thocoughly combed Maxwell road without result both yesterday and this morning. It is apparent that the "jelly" is no longer lying about loose in this area, but that it has been picked up by passers-by who may possibly have thrown it away again in alarm on discovering its dangerous qualities. There is also the possibility of it still being in the possession of children too young to realise the danger. For this reason parents would be well advised to make very sure that their youngsters have none of the redbanded seven-inch plugs numbered amongst their playthings. Should any of the sticks be recovered immediate steps should be taken to hand them in at the Police Station. "*7
