MALTA HURLS THEM BACK.
B.O.W
RUGBY, Oct. 20.
The continued failure of the enemy air attacks on Malta is described by the R.A.F. Middle East news service. After a series of tip and run raids by Me 109s yesterday, the Luftwaffe attempted to outwit the defenders by sending over three bomber formations at dusk, one from ihe west, one from the east, and the other from the north. Thc.ugh outnumered by ten to one British day fighters first drove off the western force, then the eastern, while night fighters intercepted the raiders from the north. Less than one-tenth of the enemy bombers managed to cross the coast; and two were destroyed.
