"MOST CRITICAL"
MR NASH ON PACIFIC CRISIS. P.A. Cable. BOSTON, Oct. 17. "The Pacific situation is most critical, and there is a long road ahead before the tide turns," the New Z-ea-land Minis|ter to Washingjtori, Mr Nash, told the Foreign Policy Asso--ciation. "But however vital the Pacific, the prime object of this war must be to strike at the heart of the Axis Powers, which is undoubtedly located in Berlin. "Hitler without the Japanese might manage to pull the chestnuts out of the fire, but it is v-ery doubtful if the Japanese without Hitler can ever achieve permanent success, though they may do irreparable harm and add enormously to the price the United Nations will ultima-tely pay for total victory."
