ZONING OF PROVINCE
TO INCREASE PRODUCTION. 22 AREAS NOW DEFINED. ''The province has been zoned by the Production Council and committees of weil-kriown farrners are being l'ormed," said the chairman, Mr J. B. Barnett, at last night's meeting of the Blenheim branch of the Farrners' Union. "Our suggestion to do this canje before the Marlborough Primary Production Council at the same time as a similar letter of instruction from Wellington. Although the council accused us of not keeping up-= to-date, they had made no attempt to zone the district till we moved. Statements given out that they had are absolutely erroneous. Unfortunately the council does not know from month to month what is wanted. It is constantly getting fresh instructions and requests. Mr S. W. Jordan: Twenty-two zones have been made, including Kaikoura. They want statistical information as soon as possible. When that is in hand, a programme can be worked out.
