N.Z. SUB. CHASER
SECOND PATROL SHIP LAUNCHED. Another Fairmile patrol vessel for the New Zealand Navy was launched from the boatyard of Charles Bailey and Sons, two weeks after the launching of the first vessel built in Auckland. The job of this trim, aggTessive-looking craft will be to hunt enemy submarines. Slie is a symbol of the ability of New Zealand craftsmen to build fighting ships. The keel of the third such vessel is about to be laid and a benedictory address was given by the Rev. Jasper Calder, M.B.E. Two verses of the hymn "Eternal Father" were sung and Technical Cdllege trumpeters sounded the Reveille. Mrs W. F. McCallum, chairman of directors of the building firm, broke the traditional bottle of wine and the vessel slid into the sparkling waters ready for duty.
