RULES FOR SALUTES.
WOMEN ARMY OFFIGERS. The privilege of receiving salutes, which until now has belonged exclusively to male officers of the armed forces in New Zealand, has been extended to holders of eommissions in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps. Certain paragraphs in King's Regulations, 1940, regarding rules for saluting, now apply to members of the New' Zealand W.A.A.C. Where personnel of the Army and of the W.A.A.C. are serving together within a unit all commissioned officers will salute their seniors; all non- commissioned officers will salute commissioned officers, whether male or female, when on duty or on parade: These rules also apply to any other formal occasion that the officer commanding the unit may prescribe. Members of the women's corps will salute their own officers when pn duty or on parade. When not on duty women's ranks are not required to salute officers of the Army and other Serviees, except as a matter of courtesy. Similarly, officers and soldiers of the Army when ofl duty are not obliged to salute commissioned officers of the ' W.A.A.C., but it is expected;that they will do so in courtesy. v —
