LONDON, Oct. 12.

A number of persons were killed and injured when four German sneak raiaers bombed a south coast town after mid-day. A bomb severely damaged a home for crippled child-

ren, killing a three-year-old boy and injuring several other children. Another bomb smashed almost every window in a large building in which 500 to 600 people were working, but ci.used no casualties. British fighters chased the raiders ro the sea. When a German plane bombed a north-east town last night six people were killed — five of them in. one house — and eight were injured. Some incendiaries were dropped, but the flies were quickly controlled. Berlin radio announced that the Luftwaffe last night raided Sunderland. Not more than ten enemy aircraft were over coastal districts of northeast England early last night. Bombs were dropped at several places, causing some damage and casualties. A few enemy aircraft were over Southern England to-day, likewise causing some casualties and. damage.
