MARLBOROUGH CLUB'S PLANS. OPF/NING DAY ON SATURDAY. Arrangements have been made by the Marlborough Tennis Club to olficially open its courts on. Saturday, and invitations to be present are to be extended to the! Mayor (Mr C. T. Smith) and Mrs Smith, Mr E. P, Meachen, M.P., and Mrs Meachen, St. Mary's Tennis Club and the Army and Air Force sports officers. Tweive racquets for the use of members oi the Armed Forces in the week-ends are to be ofctained and these should be available by opening day. It has been agreed at the request of the forces' sports officer to make available for inter-unit matehes foui

courts on Wednesdays and twoeouris on Sunaay afternoons, at the rate of 5s per court per afternoon. Owing to the fact that a hall is not available for the evening of opening day the dance planned has been postponed until the following weekend. . - , The club's courts are m splendia order. and it is hoped to have the whole ten available for the opening.
