BEAVER v. HUIA.
These teams met at Horton park, Huia being defeated by nine goals to nil. Beaiver always held the upper hand, the Huia forwards being unable to penetrate the Reds' half line to any extent. The Beaver forwards made several very nice combined runs and kept the ball moving across to one another. Scoring was opened by Miss Heffer. From Ihe bully the Reds were away again and dangerous momcnls caused Huia to concede corner after corner to easc the nosition. Huia battled on, but never appeared to be causing the defence any trouble. The first spell ended with Beaver flve goals up. The goals were from the sticks of Misses B. Mills (2), Z. Heffer, B. Gane and M. Wareham one each. The second spell's play wias pretty similar to the other half. Huia worked hard but were kept well away from their opponents' goal. Beaver cantinued to attack. and before the final whistle blew four more goals were added — two by Miss Heffer and two by Miss B. 'Mills. Messrs D. J. Hogg and V. Underhill umpired.
