(Received Sept. 29, 9.55 p.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 28. A message from Vera Cruz states ithat Mexioo Oity was swept by the most devastating hurricane since 1888. Several ships were sunk. The Ward liner San Juna was partiallv wrecked. Heavy seas flooded the piers and drovo out those living in the neighborhood. The hurricane blew for seyeral hours and then swept overland. The streets are littered with fallen trees. So far few onsualties ha.ve been r-e-ported.
