He is described as an "olrl mischiefmaker, who never opens his mouth without sowing liatred." Tlie Tages Zeitung says: "Nobcdy knows lietter than this old hyocrite tliat tlie three oulpi'its responsiblo for the war were himself, Izvolsky (Russian Ambassador in Paris), and Sazanoff (Russian Foreigii 51ini.ster)." The Berliner Tageblatt says: "51. Poincare must be doubtful of tlie sucoess of financial rehabilitation ; otherwise he would not, have returned to his fornier habit of making speeches on Sunday."
