AUOKLAND, Sept. 29. Four firemen named O. and E. Gilbert, J. Grant, and C. Filmer, helonging to (he Onehunga Fire Brigade, received an electric shock yesterday morning while attending a fire in St. Anclrew's Road, Epsom. The fire. had been exinguished, and the men were just finisliing dc-wn when a jet of water struck an electric wiro and tlie current travelled down a cond lit which CL Gilbert (Superintendent of the Brigade) accidentally caught hold of. Tlie forca knockcd liim down across J. Grant (foreman), who fcll to the ground, and in doing so collided with the other two men. Filirer's left hand was cut as it came in contact with a sheet of iron ; otherwise, the men escaped iminjured. They were ahle to return to tho fire station 011 their own maihi 110. Superintendent Gilhert went to bed to rest, and the other men were able to go to work as uauaL )
