PARIS, Sept. 27. Four years ago the estahlishment of La Porcherie Franeaise advertised: "Citizens are invited toi invest in the purchase of pigs as living assets unlikely to depreciate like paper bonds." Thousands of subscribers sent money to huv pigs, the company uudertaking to number them all and seir them as instrueted when, fattened. It is believed that the company thus reoeived twenty-five million francs annually. Reoently Subscribers hegan to receive notifications that their pigs had died and the frequency of the notioes aroused suspieion. Tlie police were called in. They went to the piggery and found only 182 pigs, 108 of which were listed as the property of one of the directors. It is now alleged that only seven out of many million francs were ever invested in pigs. The promoters were arrested.
