The final Jor tlie Pope Trophy was iired yesterday morniujj; at Gi.O yards, and some very good scores were recorded. The Defence champion, W. H. AVest, added another iirst trophy to his list. The brilliant shooting ol this rifleman is worthy of special note. The three c.ompetitiur.s liave been won by tlsis competitor, v.lio is shooting with wonderful consistency. In the first competition he recorded 1.42 points oufc ol' 150, it; the second 67 points oul of 70, and in Lhe match completed yesterday he capped the lot with 97 out of 100. It isdoulrtful if any other rifle-shot in New Zealand holds a'better record, G. Jackson was ay.a'ii runner-up, gaining second place in the three competitions.
