ALL SAILS SET. [press association.) (Received Feb. 7, 11.35 a.m.) NEW YORK, Feb. 6. Captain. Claridge, of the steamer Rounmma,. reports the loss of the Norwegian barque Remittent. He states that he found /the Remittent with all sails set and undamaged in mid-Atlantic, but there was no trace of % single soul aboard, although the vessel had evidently been vacated* only a few hours previously. Captain Claridge took the Remittent in tow, but lost her during a terrific gale. It is not known whether she has foundered.

Captain Claridge's story was disbelieved at first, but afterwards was substantiated.

A Sydney cablegram, received last night states that Captain Hutton, aide-de-camp to Lord Liverpool, has arrived there.

A Melbourne cablegram states that Mr Foster, Canadian Minister for Commerce, will leave Canada for -Newt Zealand on the 19th inst.

Mr R. C. O'Connor, of Wellington, official lecturer for the National Provident Fund, arrived in Blenheim last night, for the purpose of explaining the benefits to be derived from a participation in the fund. Mr O'Connor has been travelling for over twelve months, and his tour has been a very successful one. '

Morrison has left Blenheim for Wellington, where she will engage in the musical profession at the Convent, and where slio will be a,ssoeiated with Sister Mary Ligouri, her singing teacher in former years.
