THE TERRITORIALS
OPERATIONS AT HAVELOOK AND CARLUKE.
Our Havelook correspondent writes • The Carluke Territorials and Senior, Cadets fired part I. (preliminary instruction) of the , annual musketry, course on a miniature range at Carluke on Saturday last. Trooper P. &. Neal and Private Dolamore tied for top place with, a score of 67. toeveral other competitors were also well m the running. It is pleasing to note that again considerable interest was taken by the men in their work, which, as a matter of fact, has/ been manifest from the beginning by the Carluke men. and at the conclusion Sergeant-Majpr Reid expressed his satisfaction with the marksmanship at the"" range. The Havelock Territorials have almost without exception entered into the spirit of soldiering with great vim, and each week shows marked improvement both in drill and in smartness. Sergeant-Major Reid deserves great praise for his perseverance. A feature of the Tuesday night weekly drills in Havelock is the number of ladies who attend, and watch the proceedings with keen interest.
