LONDON, Feb. 6. (Received Fob. 6, 0.20 a.m.) The Times congratulates Australia °\£ f rapld nejld "«"ay she ( is making widb. her navy. She has already in embryo a new centre of naval power, with the first base established required to build and man her own neet. The Pacific is not at present a threatened sphere, and there is time to frame a policy in accordance with the desires of the various Dominions.
The Standard pays a tribute to AutsraKa's efforts a-s evidenced in the cruisers Melbourne, Sydney, and Australia. Though units of the fleet, they are intended primarily for se-if-de Fence, and also to uphold Britain's supremacy in the far-off seas.
