TENTH CONTINGENT.
Nelson, April 2. T,he Nelson members of the Tentl Contingent left this afternoon foi Addington in charge of Lieut. Trask, district adjutant. They were playecl to the wharf by the Garrison Band anc farewelled by a large crowd of people, The whole of the men of the Nelsoi: district will meet at Wellington and proceed to Lyttelton by the Waihora, The Nelson More Men Committee are presenting each man with wooller comforts. Christohurch, April 2. Major Andrew, commanding the Sixth New Zealand Contingent, ha* been offeredand has accepted the command of the Tenth Contingent. . Wanganui, April 2. Over 200 applications have been re ceived, including several returned contingenters, for the Wanganui quota of 38 for the Tenth Contingent. The medical examination is finished, and the riding test will be taken this afternoon. Palmerston N., April 2. The examination of applicants foi the Tenth is still proceeding. Twentytwo have been approved so far; lc more passed the riding test to-day; 15 are more still required to make up the complement. There are plenty of applicants by letter, but the men do noi seem to. think it necessary to applj personally. „' New Plymouth, April 2. Twenty-two men for the Tenth Contingent were selected to-day. They Jeave for Trentham on Friday.
