Tn the course of his speech at Gisborne, the Premier said that his main object in visiting the district was in regard to the native lands. The Government hoped to soon be able to throw two million acres of native land in the Colony open for settlement under the Administration Act. He piedicted that for <he next five or six years the Gisbo^ne district would have prosperity exceeding anything in the past.
Referring to public works the Premier said that aftar the 31st of March there would be an expenditure in the Colony at the rate of £1,000,000 per month. The Premier reaches Napier on Saturday morning.
