DROWNING FATALITY.

A boy named Percy Purchas, whose parents live in Grove Road, was drowned at Spring Creek yesterday. lie was employed at Morrison's flaxmill, and the accident occurred as be was crossing the creek in a punt at a place near the mill. The accident was not witnessed, but it is supposed that the boy fell over the dam at that point in trying to steer the punt The fatality occurred at about four o'clock in the afternoon, and shortly afterwards the boy was missed and the overturned punt was discovered further along the stream. An unsuccessful search was made, and late last night the police were communicated with. Constable Surgenor went out, :ind at two o'clock this morning the body was discovered in about eight feet of water and recovered. Deceased \va3 aboub sixtean years of age.
