NEW ZEALAND CONTINGENT.
A FULL COMPLEMENT. Wellington, January 6. Dr. Fenwiok, medioal officer attaohed to the oonticgent, has reoeived word that he is to be attaohed to the troops throughout the campaign instead of for the voyage to Capetown only. * Trooper Chapman ie making good progress towards reoovery. Speaking at the Hutt last night, the Premier said the Governor has reoeived a communication from the Home authorities stating that they are short of medioal men for the Transvaal, and aeking that the ooionies ehould, if possible, send men fully equipped with the contingent. This, Mr Seddon stated, it was intended to do. As the contingent's complement is now full, the greatest activity prevails m the camp, the men being exercised moro, noon, and night m the various drills and shooting. -^ January 7. Bishop Wallis held a servioe at the Newtown oamp this morning m steady rain, whioh fell from early morning, and militated against the attendance of local Volunteers and the publio. During the afternoon the weather oleared, and the camp was crowded with visitors. Wednesday is now mentioned as the likely date of departure of the contingent.
