THE AUSTRALIAN CONTINGENT.

In response to a request from the offioer commanding the New South Wales Lancers at the front (Oaptain Cox) fifty eztra mounts are being sent to the corps. They will be shipped on the 17th, along with the seoond contingent. The Imperial authorities have aooepted the services of ten out of the twenty nurses who volunteered for service with the colonial troops. The War Offioe has deolined the offer made by Sydney ooaohbuildera to build transport waggons, as it is considered the class of vehioles it was proposed to make would be unsuitable for military requirements m South Africa.
