A detachment of the New South Wales Lancers,' under Major Loe, was sent to prevent the looting of a wrecked commiaariat train at Rensburg, near Colesburg. They were exposed to a heavy •hell and musketry fire for an hour. They took good shelter and returned the fire. Two were slightly wounded, and five horses were killed. Three Boers were killed and several wounded.
