THE ESTIMATES.— MARLBOROUGH.
The following are the changes proposed by the * Ministry in the Einancial Statement, upon the •General Government Services Provincially char* ged, so far as Marlborough is concerned. In the Treasury department, the office of Paymaster to be in conjunction with the Collector of Customs. - In Stamp office, deputy-commissioner, 725. Returning and Registration officer for Picton and Wairau, £25. Revising officer, 125. Deputy Registrar Supreme Court, £SO. Sheriff to have . fees in lieu of £25.
District Courts ; Judge, <C37 10s {last year, <£150); clerk, £l*2 10s. (last year, £50.); bailiff, nil. (last year, 19). Resident Magistrates Courts: magistrate, 7250; two clerks at 7100 each, (last year £l2O and £150); clerk at £7O and bailiff £4O to be dispensed with ; magistrate and clerk at Picton and Havelock, (£lO9 and £41.) dispensed with; travelling expeuce £52; clerk ait Kaikoura, £2O. Reduction on the: department, £330 13s 4d. Lands and deeds Registry: registrar £250, and; clerk £l5O, no change. | . Postal; Chief-postmaster to be reduced from,; , <£3oo to £250; clerk £75; Picton postmaster'; £165; ten country do with aggregate of .£ll3, instead of nine with <£lo3. Conveyance of mails to be reduced from <£9oo to 800; and contingencies from £l5O to £IOO. Telegraphic: Havelock telegraphist £IOO (also postmaster with £20); Picton do. £36, (also; postmaster <£l6s); Blenheim - do. - reduced from| £175 to-£150;, Kaikoura do. .£125,. {also post-1' master £0)1 Whites Bay do. one at-£l5O, and One at £2OO, to be reduced £25! Messengers and assistants at Blenheim and Picton ! £6O, in-: stead of £SO. Customs: Collectors, also licensing officers under Arms Act, Picton raised from <£lßo to £200; • Blenheim from <£l7s to <£225; Havelock abolish I ed; Coastwaiter, Havelock, ( hew office) £25. |

The reduction in the totals of services Provincially charged will amount to £1,252 I2s 6d.
